The inaugural vessel, “M/V MELISA,” was soon followed by “M/V MACAU VENTURE” and “M/V MILD SPLENDOUR,” establishing a regular and reliable route approved by the Maritime and Port Administration in June 1989. This service has continued to operate, supporting the trade infrastructure between the two nations and facilitating the efficient movement of goods. Its efforts have laid the groundwork for seamless maritime trade in the region, highlighting its importance in the logistics sector.
In 1998, it further expanded its services by introducing the first direct route connecting Ulsan and Gwangyang ports in Korea to China, a move that reduced logistics costs for Korea’s chemical exports and ensured timely delivery. By 2001, it had also initiated the first container liner service between Pyeongtaek and major Chinese ports such as Shanghai, Qingdao, Tianjin, and Dalian, areas previously without such services.
